Philip Toshio Sudo is author of the popular and critically acclaimed Zen Guitar, Zen Computer , Zen Sex, and Zen 24/7. He has also recorded a critically acclaimed album of instrumental music, One Sound One Song. He began playing the guitar as a child in Japan and developed the Zen Guitar philosophy performing the streets, parks, and subways of New York City. In 1993 he became an official musician of the New York City Marathon. Sudo's background in zen comes from extensive study in Eastern philosophy and 12 years of living in Japan. He lives with his wife and children in New York City, where he writes and records his music. In April 2001, he was diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. |
