What's New

at the Zen Guitar Dojo

Fall 2001

John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." I know what he means. I've got so many plans for building the Zen Guitar website--plans I think are really exciting. But I haven't been able to get to them (yet), because life has had its own designs.

Specifically: In April, I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. (If you want to know more about that situation, you can click here.) As a result, I haven't been able to devote much time attending to Zen Guitar. It's been a struggle to keep up with my correspondence, much less put in the time to take this site to where I think it can go.

The idea of an online Zen Guitar Dojo has so much potential, especially as the technological possiblities of the Internet increase. I've laid out some of those ideas in a ZG Plan. I welcome your comments on the plan, and any help you might offer to help realize it. In particular, if you have programming expertise or money to invest as an active partner, please contact me.

I'll continue building this site as my own pace, as my health allows. But the ultimate success will be determined by you (see Welcome). The more you can bring to this site, the better it will be. I'll announce the launch of the new site by e-mail when it is completed. (Sign the guest book to make sure you're on the mailing list.) In the meantime, be well, and may you follow the Way wherever it leads.

New Books

Zen 24/7: All Zen/All the Time

Wake up and smell the coffee? Smell the coffee and wake up! The enlightenment of zen is yours to discover--in a cup of joe, a traffic jam, a bad hair day, or the blink of an eye--24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The most mundane details of life contain zen's profound truths--if you're of the mind to look for them. Find out how to live Zen 24/7: All Zen/All the Time.

Read the first chapter here.

Zen Computer

For those of you with an interest in all things cyber, be sure to look for the paperback release of Zen Computer by Zen Guitar author and dojo founder Philip Toshio Sudo. It's due in stores everywhere in September 2001. Visit the sister website, the Zen Computer Dojo, for an overview of what the book is all about.

Zen Sex: The Way of Making Love

And for those of you interested in sex (anyone not on that list?), check out Sudo's 2000 release, Zen Sex, available in stores everywhere. (Don't worry--it's tasteful.) Filled with classic Japanese erotic prints and poetry on love-making, it's a meditation on spiritual sex that makes a great "pillow book" or gift for your lover.

Enjoy!
